PowerShell says it is restricted on this computer

This is usually set by an administrator on work computers. AutoSettings won’t run here - ask your administrator.

I have an older version of Windows

AutoSettings is made for Windows 10 and 11. On Windows 8 and 8.1 the menu opens, but most items aren’t available, and on older versions it won’t start.

Nothing happens after Enter, or the download fails

Check that your internet works and paste the line again.

Windows asks for permission to make changes

That’s for items that change settings for the whole PC. Click Yes to apply them, or No - AutoSettings will skip them.

A section isn’t available on my Windows version

Some settings exist only in newer versions of Windows. The menu tells you when a section doesn’t fit your version.

Sites stopped loading after a DNS change

During setup AutoSettings checks the DNS and, if it doesn’t answer, switches back to the standard DNS on its own. If sites stop loading later, choose “Reset DNS only” in “Yandex DNS and Yandex search.”
